He had a job in radio broadcasting and was a functional alcoholic when drug use started and took over his life. He lost everything in 1993 and had been panhandling in Columbus for the past 10 years.
There have been critics saying that once an addict, always an addict, but when watching his video, his appreciation for the second chance stands out and I hope that he succeeds. His story does bring the importance of being grateful for what you have to the forefront. A journal of gratitude is an excellent way to list what you are grateful for.
